Youth Ministry

Beginning in September, we are going to be launching a new youth ministry program for our high schoolers who have made their Confirmation. It is going to be small group based and is intended as a way for the kids to continue to grow in their faith and relationship with God. We plan for each small group to include 8-10 kids and 2 leaders, and meet weekly for prayer and conversation about a faith topic, and also get together to do fun stuff and service together. Relationships are key to this style of ministry (as opposed to the large youth groups that parishes have been offering for years), so the groups will be rooted in our kids’ existing friend networks in order for them to continue their journey of faith together with peers that support and care for them. And unlike the rigid faith formation class schedule, each group will be free to meet when and where best fits the schedules of its members.

Our plan is to use the fall to put together the framework for the groups and prepare the group leaders before launching the first group meetings in January. In order for us to do that, we want to know how many kids are interested in participating so that we can form the right number of groups and I can recruit enough leaders. There will be an informational meeting held in mid-fall to explain the program in more detail, but for now if your child has any interest in participating please contact Matt Brady at directorofministries.tic@gmail.com.

Volunteers are also needed to be group co-leaders. All that's required is love of God and willingness to work with teens. All the materials and group leader training will be provided. Please contact Matt Brady for more info.
